Look at me. I am as naked as the palm of my hands.

I love you, my little woman, my vulnerable, my broken one. I live in your body, in your soul you've given to me. I see you in the reflection of myself.

This woman who every morning, I dress in underwear and clothes, to undress to dress again- and whom every night I lay down naked in a land of dreams. I am inside of you, sometimes I escape. I give to you others. You enjoy others as much as I enjoy you. Pleasure is what you want, I will caress you.

I love you, and you give to me, your feminine self, and your smooth skin. All I do is love you, and you give me the eyes, to let me see and capture the world in front of me. You give me your pumping heart, I give to you words, to speak and express. I know these things well, I give them all to you.

All the world loves you... They recognize what's tempting. The world sees what is provocative about you. The whole world loves women. Including women who, on the street, look at one another more than they look at men; and who read magazines full of images of women. Including men who love men, who frequently develop the ultimate realms of femininity. The whole world loves women so much that the whole world hates them for concealing themselves, for never being exactly where the world wants them to be. You all desire, fear, adore and hate women. Hate created hateful words like whore and slut which is thrown around with no real definition at all. Hate driven by ignorance. Created by men, driven by women. You hate what you desire. You view me as an object. Therefore you steal with your eyes and your ignorant mind.

In capturing myself in front of my lens, I find myself hiding in front of my own expressions... A photo expressing myself in a vulnerable completely bare state is an abduction if seen by the wrong eyes. A photo can make me purely objective to people who can view me and call me a whore. I am not hiding from myself I hide from the eyes whose stolen, and waiting to steal from me. I walk the world with ideas and rules already set by others, and I comply to them. To protect myself from the hate and ignorance. I can not express freely. You hate when I hide, you hate when I don't. You might be beautiful in many ways, but I despise you for your hate, for your ignorance. I hide from your eyes whose stolen from me and hurt me but you will not take away what is mine. I am mine.

  1. I look at you as a beautiful young woman that as inside her a world of emotions, ideas and potential all trying to burst out in the world. I like you because you know that, and you will do whatever you must to achieve your Goals an Dreams.
In the end i believe you will leave your Mark in the World...

  2. Action without thought is equally useless as thought without action. You see the truth that lies within the dichotomy of the soul, and this is why I love and respect as being one of the best people I have ever known in my life. You are on the cusp of great things in life and we lucky few are privileged to see this, as so few are ever able to see such great events in life. Always remember that no one can take anything from you that you truly do not give them, this is why you could never be a whore.

  3. This is impressively well articulated, and stunning photos per usual.

At any rate typo alert :)

  5. Writing a comment at 3 in the morning half asleep with the lights out, and reading it the next day makes me think what i could write with both eyes open, and if English was my first language.
Every time i enter your room and see it fill up with people this song comes to mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7fhhOZNYCY . ( Joey you may not like the song but you probably enjoy the video)

  6. :) Val, John, Eric, thank you for the sweet replies. :)

Val, what you said really means a lot to me. I do hope to leave a mark in the world, whether it is to 1-2 people, or to a large group of people. I want to affect them positively and share my work and who I am with people who will appreciate it.

John.. Shooting myself really taught me a lot about myself and how much other around me affect me. I am realizing things I wouldn't have realized otherwise. How I feel about myself and how I express myself in front and behind the camera. I am lucky to be able to share the adventures within myself with you, John. :)

Eric, I noticed several typos while rereading. I fixed the ones I notice, but I tend to always find more when I read it again. It's okay. I never wrote as much as I do now that I started a blog. I notice I jump from topics a lot and don't really go out of my way to make sure the grammar is just right. As long as you guys still find my thoughts interesting, I will keep writing them down. :)

  7. Val, that is a beautiful quote from Audrey Hepburn. It's quite nice to know that the beauty fashion icon of her time, was also an intelligent and interesting person. Hollywood is no longer something a population to look up on. There is no such thing as classy and intelligent women in media anymore.

  8. I really enjoy your blog it gives us a better understanding of the person we see on our monitors. I don't mind the typos or the jump in topics as it gives us a better idea of your thoughts. I believe it is more genuine that way. I probably speak for most of the blog viewers in saying that we are honored that you share so much of yourself with us. You have a great gift in your ability to take pictures. I like your art it is tasteful and beautiful much like you are.
I really enjoy spending time in your room. The music and your charming personality give the room a pleasant atmosphere which is very calming. I know that I am not the only one who looks forward to you being on. The positive atmosphere of your room brings happiness to me and others. I am very thankful for the time we get to spend with you and look forward to spending time in your room when you get some free time.

  10. Thanks Val, I feel the same way but I tried to include the rest of the blog readers and loyal cam viewers into my post. I know that I am not the only one who shares these thoughts. I meant to post my screen name as it would not be fair to Joey or the others to not know which viewer posted the comments. My screen name is Sid3wwinder. I am with Val in encouraging others to do the same.

  12. yeah, i only pointed out the typo to make my post feel more substantive, selfish move on my part. regardless, objectification (of women) is a dangerous subject to take on and joey handles it gracefully.

ericbottle is my nick. i'm pretty new to the wonderful world of joey - happened to find my way to joey's room a couple of weeks ago to be met with a beaming smile i haven't seen out of anyone in a long time - definitely not what i was expecting out of mfc, but so much better than anything i could have imagined. at times, i have trouble opening up to the people around me (a.k.a. "trust issues") and to see joey opening up to random strangers on the internet practically restored my faith in humanity. joey exudes a love for her fans that i would imagine many of us strongly desire would come from those close to us and joey exudes a love that i myself want to pass on and share with the world. i honestly think that finding joey has made me more of a better person than anything else i've done in the past six months.

but why am I talking about joey in the third person, when I'm sitting here on her blog? i don't know :P

    stay awesome joey :)

  13. Well its been a wile since I heard from you Joey so you can imagine how many walls I have cracked with my head. Some days I close my eyes and i can see you dance and then I smile and then I become sad because a memory is only a poor replacement for the real You.

  14. Hi Joey. I was wondering how you are doing since you have not been on for a little while. I hope you are doing well. I share Val's frustration about you not being online, but I realize you are probably busy with school and your personal life. I just wanted to let you know that there are still people who care about you and miss you. We hope to see you online when you get a chance. We miss your beautiful personality and your big smile.

  20. I agree with Val it is sad day when you are not on. You are a bright light that pulls us out of the fog in our everyday lives. Hopefully we will get to see you on cam this weekend. I am also looking forward to your next blog post.

  21. Alright i'll try to post a comment one more time :P

    Your blog is interesting....

I personally believe there are many different kind of whores, even though it is usually associated with a sexual connotation.

While I do not believe in being a whore, I do think it is more interesting when people admit to themselves what they are (whether they are whores or not) as opposed to being oblivious or willfully ignorant of oneself.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Just to clarify, i'm obviously not saying you are a whore, I am just saying whores that know they are whores are better than whores who do not know they are whores (in my opinion).

And by different kinds of whores I mean there are people that trade their dignity in other ways for some sort of "benefit" in life.
